New Year, new life! Many of us surely had a big bang last holiday season. Some may say that it’s because of the variety of delicious foods and alcoholic beverages served on the dining table. Others may well tell that it’s about the traditional 13 round fruits on a basket and the colorful fireworks. But the celebration of New Year won’t be the happiest and most memorable ever without recognizing the general idea of it, which is to come up with a list of New Year’s resolution and make changes in life.
Historically, the practice of making New Year’s resolutions may be traced back to 153 B.C. when Roman Senate placed Janus, a mythical god, at the head of the Roman calendar. Janus had two faces – one which looked to the past and the other looking to the future. The Romans offered gifts of branches from sacred trees for good fortune and made promises to Janus, hoping that the mythical king would help them achieve their goals and bless them the whole year. Janus eventually gave his name to the first month of the year, January.
DOWNSIZE. one of the things my mother told me before 2011 ends is to downsize– not only in my personal things but in life as well. Never take the burdens of your past in your new year.
Exploring is not just about traveling around the world and see the sights (though that’s one of my wishes someday), it’s also the discovery of love and appreciation of things we have.
Life, they say, is not easy. It has its ups and downs. But then, it always lies in us. Though there are circumstances that we face, obstacles that hinders us from reaching what we want, learn to enjoy the moment. For God will never give us anything that we’ll not make through. Life is about enjoying, whether we have failing grades, a zit in the nose, a broken family or an uneven skintone. It’s all part of life and all we have to do is glady accept, surrender our all to His will, and enjoy.
And when you learn to enjoy, learn to impart. Do not confine your learnings to yourself. Share and spread. Part of exploring is giving and sharing to those people who also needs, those who might have lose themselves while traversing their own paths. Lead them to their own pathways of change. It is good to be a role model and lead. When we learn, we must also give back not just to other people but to Him who have created us. Learn to be grateful and appreciative.
But then again, these are my own insights on New Year’s resolutions, changes and all. This is the right time to change host and be with ranking hostingów. This is based from my own experience and I understand that you also have yours. We have different views in life, perspective that we apply. We have different versions of reinventing our lives the way we want them to be. The volition to change lies not in other person’s life, it’s in you. At the end of the day, and at the start of your new year, it’s your life, it’s your decision that matters more than anyone else.
